The DJI Osmo Action 3 and its accessories are available starting today through DJI’s online store and authorized reatilers. To expand the creative possibilities, DJI has released a collection of accessories for the Osmo Action 3, including a waterproof case, an extended-power battery, lens protectors, extension rods and more mounting accessories than your likely-less-than-hardcore adventures call for. The LightCut app will parse through the footage and automatically select highlights to create videos ready to share right to social media. Other features include five custom shooting modes you can quickly switch between, Voice Prompts for checking the camera settings without needing to remove the camera, Voice Control for changing shooting modes and settings with your voice, InvisiStick for Skiing for removing extension poles in snowsports, as well as digital zoom, timelapse modes and even compatibility with the DJI Mic through the device’s USB-C port.ĭJI’s Mimo and LightCut apps can also connect with the Action 3 over WiFi or Bluetooth to transfer media and create content on-the-fly using integrated templates, editing and more. The Osmo Action 3 features dual touchscreens on the front and rear of the display, as well as a three-mic stereo array and Wi-Fi livestreaming at up to 1080/30p. While that time will likely be much lower when shooting 4K/120p video with one of the image stabilization modes turned on, charging the battery can be done quickly thanks to built-in USB-C Power Delivery, which can charge the battery to 80% in as little as 18 minutes with a 30W charger (100% in 50 minutes). Powering all of this is a new 1,770mAh Extreme Battery that DJI claims can record 1080/30p video for up to 160 minutes. DJI says HorizonBalancing is ‘a perfect middle ground between RockSteady and HorizonSteady.’ There’s also the HorizonBalancing feature DJI added to the Action 2 in a firmware update earlier this year, which corrects horizon tilts within +/-45º with 4K/60p video. HorizonSteady further helps to eliminate camera shake while also correcting for horizon stabilization, even through full 360º rotations. The electronic image stabilization is powered by DJI’s RockSteady 3.0 technology, which reduces camera shake in all directions with footage up to 4K/120p. The lens in front of the sensor provides a 155º field of view. The Osmo Action 3 also has electronic image stabilization as well as a D-Cinelike Color Mode for extracting the most from the footage in post-production. In addition to a new 4K/120p video capture mode, the camera also has a longer-lasting battery with USB-C Power Delivery charging.Īt the core of the new action camera is a Type 1/1.7 (7.4 x 5.6mm) sensor that can capture 4K video at up to 120 frames per second (fps). DJI has announced announced its latest action camera, the Osmo Action 3.
